The Zonta Club of Hanalei is a member of Zonta International. Our local club was chartered on April 1, 2007 by a group of women from the North Shore business community led by robin savage-thompson. The Zonta Club of Hanalei became the second Zonta organization on Kauai.
Our club's goal is to improve the political, educational and professional status of women and girls on Kauai and around the world. Club members work towards this goal by advocacy, fundraising and service projects. Our group is comprised of 27 members (as of July 1, 2015).
We welcome new members to be actively involved in our dynamic, fun and dedicated club. We are looking for individuals who have a desire to make a difference, give back to the community, and are interested in helping women accomplish their goals.
Founded in 1919, Zonta International is a global organization of over 30,000 members working together to fulfill Zonta’s mission to empower women worldwide through service and advocacy.
There are more than 1,200 Zonta Clubs in 67 countries and geographic areas. Known as “Zontians,” members provide services to both their local and international communities through a wide range of projects and events. The Zonta International Foundation has contributed millions of dollars to numerous worthy causes across the globe.
Zonta International envisions a world in which women’s rights are recognized as human rights and every woman is able to achieve her full potential. In such a world, every woman is literate and has access to education, health care, legal and economic resources on an equal basis with men. In such a world, no woman lives in fear of violence.
